Protecting the Rights of the Injured & Disabled
Kate Matthews is a Plaintiff’s personal injury lawyer. She joined Gold & Levy in July 2016. Kate zealously represents individuals who have been injured due to the negligence, carelessness, recklessness, or intentional conduct of others. Over the years, Kate has developed extensive experience litigating personal injury and property damages cases. She is a skilled advocate for the ill, injured, and victimized.
Prior to joining Gold & Levy, Kate was a Partner and litigation attorney at the Hartford law firm of Gordon, Muir & Foley, LLP. At her previous firm, Kate worked closely with insurance companies to represent their insureds, gaining tremendous insight into how insurance companies value and handle personal injury cases. She represented clients in a number of sporting and school injury cases, in construction defect and worksite injury matters, and in municipal and State liability claims. Kate also represented national retail store chains in dozens of slip and fall and store injury cases. She is also a skilled appellate lawyer, and has argued before the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Second Circuit Court of appeals in New York.
As a Plaintiff’s personal injury lawyer, Kate puts this insight and experience to work for her clients. She uses these tools to get her clients better results, faster.
Kate’s cases include motor vehicle crashes, slip and fall accidents, defective products claims, medical malpractice, train/truck/bus crashes, Worker’s Compensation claims, wrongful death and debilitating injuries, traumatic brain injury, and injuries caused by dog bites and attacks.
Kate is also a wife, and mother to two wonderful children. Kate has previously served her community as an elected City Councilor in Bristol, Connecticut. She is currently the First Vice Chair of the Bristol Democratic Town Committee. Kate has also volunteered as a lector, Sunday school teacher, and Eucharistic minister at her home parish of St. Stanislaus Church in Bristol.
